Honorable Pamela A.W. King to Receive Harold Feder Jurisprudence Award

At the 2025 Jurisprudence Section Annual Business Meeting in Baltimore, the Honorable Pamela A.W. King will be presented the Harold Feder Award. Judge King serves as a District Court Judge in the 3rd Judicial District. Prior to that, she worked with the Minnesota State Public Defender's Office where she was part of the Trial Team specializing in forensic science litigation. Judge King sat as a Commissioner on the National Commission on Forensic Sciences, a Federal Advisory Commission to the U.S. District Attorney. She also sat as one of the Scientific and Technical Review Panels (STRP) Members for the Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) 2021-S-0021, Forensic Autosomal STR DNA Statistical Analyses - General Protocol, Protocol Verification, and Case Record Requirements. Judge King sits on the Strategic Advisory Board for the Center for Statistics and Application in Forensic Evidence (CSAFE).

Judge King is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). She serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the AAFS. Additionally, she also serves on the AAFS Standards Board. Judge King has been a member of the Bylaws Committee and the Education Committee.  She has served as a member of the Presidential ad hoc: Program Process Review and the Presidential ad hoc: Committee on Synthetic Opioids. She also served on the Forensic Foundation Education Committee.

In 2018, Judge King was awarded the Magnus Mukoro Award for Integrity in Forensic Science by New York City Legal Aid Society. Through the years, Judge King has been an active mentor to many members of the Jurisprudence Section. She has dedicated her time to work on expanding the membership of the Jurisprudence Section and seeking to help in the advancement of its members.

Judge King has spent the past 15 years making significant achievements in time, service, and dedication to the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the Jurisprudence section. It is for these reasons that the Honorable Pamela A.W. King will be awarded the Harold Feder award at the 2025 Baltimore American Academy of Forensic Science Annual Conference.
