Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor in Criminal Justice (Forensic Studies)

Responsibilities

The Department of Criminal Justice in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada invites applications for a Full-Time Rank 0(II) Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor in the area of Forensic Studies. The successful applicant will have duties in the areas of teaching (both in-person and online) and the management of a forensic teaching laboratory. Examples of courses needing to be taught include Introduction to Administration of Justice, Cold Crime Investigation and Analysis, Forensic Sciences, and Crime Scene Investigation. Other courses may be possible based on the desires of the successful candidate and the approval of the department. Standard teaching load for a Lecturer is 4 courses per semester, but that can be adjusted through the assumption of additional administrative duties.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 
MA or MS degree in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, or a related field in hand by July 1, 2025. Demonstrated excellence, or clear evidence of potential for excellence, in the teaching of Forensic Studies, and laboratory operations and management. 

Preferred Qualifications 
Ph.D. degree in Criminal Justice, Forensic Sciences, or a related field. Experience in the teaching of forensic methodologies and the operations of forensics labs. Evidence of attention to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in teaching and laboratory operations.

Compensation
