Journal of Forensic Sciences Announces New Associate Editor
I am delighted to announce that the Journal of Forensic Sciences (JFS) has appointed a new Associate Editor (AE), Nicholas Batalis, MD.
Dr. Nicholas Batalis is a Professor at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, SC, and will be assuming the JFS AE role for Forensic Pathology on March 1, 2025. Dr. Batalis is a Member of the JFS Editorial Board and is well qualified to act as the Forensic Pathology AE. We are delighted that he has agreed to join the JFS Leadership Team and look forward to his future contributions. He will assume the AE responsibilities currently held by Dr. Corinne Fligner, who will step down from her JFS AE role for Forensic Pathology on February 28, 2025.
My thanks and gratitude are extended to Dr. Fligner, who has been a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the JFS leadership team in her JFS AE role and was a tremendous help in making the new JFS structure the successful model it is today. She also performed the JFS AE duties for Forensic Pathology manuscript submissions with professionalism and integrity. Dr. Fligner will continue to serve as a JFS Editorial Board Member.
AEs were incorporated into the JFS process in 2017 and have played an integral role in the evolution of JFS. It is their dedication and effort that make JFS one of the leading forensic science journals in the world.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Batalis on his new appointment, as well as thanking Dr. Fligner for her vital contributions during her tenure as JFS AE.
Thank you for your continued support of JFS and its initiatives. For questions, please contact JFS Managing Editor Brenda Peat at bpeat@aafs.org.
